The New Jersey Community Transportation Training Program (NJCTTP), in cooperation with the Federal Transit Administration (FTA), is offering a webinar to provide transit professionals background information on the Charter Service Final Rule (73 FR 2326). The webinar is intended for New Jersey community transportation providers (including counties and municipalities) that provide transit services in their jurisdiction.
Topics include:
- New exemptions relative to transit systems transporting transit employees; private charter operators receiving federal funds; public transit agencies receiving funds under 5310, 5311, 5316, and 5317; emergency response and preparedness; recipients in non-urbanized areas transporting employees for training
- New definitions of charter service (third party involved) and applicability
- Reporting requirements and exceptions
- Procedures for registration and notification
- Complaints and remedies
The webinar is 90 minutes. Participants will log into the webinar to access the graphic content and dial into an audio-teleconference. A question and answer segment will be provided at the end of the presentation. The webinar will be facilitated by Crystal Frederick, the FTA Ombudsman for Charter Service and Elizabeth Martineau, a Senior Attorney in the General Law Division of the FTA.
